Mac Mail Setup
Use this instructions to get your Mac Mail software set up with your Fyles Web Design hosted email account.
Once the software is running, follow these steps:
- Click Mail > Preferences > Accounts
- Click the + (bottom left)
- In the box that follows:
Full Name: (type the name that you would like to be sent along with your emails)
Email Address:
Password:
- Continue
- Account Type: IMAP
- Description: whatever you like
- Incoming mail server: is in the form mail.< your domain name> So for example a user with email address john@smith.com would have the incoming mail server mail.smith.com
- User Name: your full email address
- Password:
- Continue
- Tick the 'Use Secure Sockets Layer' (SSL) box, leave 'Authentication' at Password
- Continue
- Outgoing Mail Server
Description: whatever you like
Outgoing Mail Server: if you already have a working SMTP server choose it from the dropdown list here. Otherwise use the incoming mail server here too.
Tick 'Use Authentication' and enter the same details as before.
- Continue
- Tick 'Take account online' > Create
- When you see the 'Verify Certificate' dialogue box, click Show Certificate > Tick the 'Always trust' box
- Connect
